Heavy rain damages track

The damaged track under the High Level Bridge in Cambridge

A track and crossing below the Victoria ‘High Level’ bridge was damaged during heavy rainfall on December 28.

Waipā District Council says it was unaware of any other damage caused by the storm and would engage contractors to make the High Level track safe and useable again.

Niwa meterologist Ben Noll said between 4-5pm on December 28, 18mm of rain fell in the Karāpiro area.
